Changing the date

I'm new to solaris, but I know that for the most part, it behaves somewhat like linux.

I want to change the date on a Solaris 9 SPARC and I was wondering if the 'date' command works the same way like in Linux. Also, how do I save the date to the hardware clock? hwclock --systohc? (I think this only works on intel machines)

Setting the date is indeed done in the same way with both O/S.

As far as I know, Solaris doesn't maintain distinct H/W and O/S clocks, so the date command is enough to set the clock.

Ok... Thanks...

One more question, though... Does the SPARC architecture have something like BIOS? and where cand I find more information?
