Slackware and SAS disks

Does Slackware 12.0 handle SAS disk drives?

The installer kernel supports pretty much everything that Linux 2.6 does, so if it has support in the kernel, you should be able to install Slackware onto it. I have no personal experience with using these devices under Slackware, however.

its not a question of sas disk support, but whether Slack supports your SAS controller.

ie. there's a good chance it does support your hardware.

I installed Slackware 11.0 on an HP Proliant server with SAS drives and had no problem. The only detail to observe is choosing a kernel with compiled support for the CCISS driver. With Slack 11 those were raid.s for a 2.4.33.3 kernel or test26.s or huge26.s for 2.6.x kernels.
With Slack 12 you only get kernel 2.6.21.5, so the default kernel will do.
