Requirements for Slackware 10.2 boot disk

I am trying to create a custom boot disk to activate my PERC3/Di RAID controller. I am following instructions as described in the Slackware FAQ by pretty much overwriting the kernel on the working boot disk with my own. The problem there is that my kernel fails to open ramdisk floppies with the following error:

UDF-fs: No VRS found
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs of unknown-block(2,0)

The original kernel boot disk (raid.s) loads ramdisk floppies with no problems, so it's definety something missing in my new kernel. Any ideas?

OK apprently aacraid is supported within adaptec.s boot disk, I just had to point cfdisk to my array by doing

cfdisk /dev/sda
