Question Problem for installing Slackware 14.2 (triple boot with Debian & Win10)

Hello,

First I would like to apologize for my english, it's not my first language.

---

So, I tried to install from the 14.2 DVD Slackware on my SSD hard drive, next to Windows 10 & Debian.

I used dd to make an external hard drive boot up the DVD, which works well.

Everything seems to be fine into the ncurse installer until it's time to choose and install packages:

Mostly I choose:

- A
- AP
- D
- F
- KDE
- KDEI
- L
- N
- X
- TCL
- XAP

Then I tried several times to install them from newbie, full to expert or menu. But at this point, even if my computer is pretty powerful and I use a SSD (so it's very fast), the installation seems to take... 3 seconds. Nothing more !

But every install process are taking the same time and no one of them are asking anything, specially LILO isn't showed at any points.

First I wanted to add Slackware to my actual GRUB menu from Debian, using os-prober doesn't show it and of course update-grub didn't do any change.

---

Then I checked the content of my actual Slackware root and:

Quote:
root@desktop:~# du -schx /mnt/slackware/
72K /mnt/slackware/
72K total
root@desktop:~# ls -la /mnt/slackware/
total 40
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 3 août 11:07 .
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 3 août 12:25 ..
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 3 août 11:07 boot
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 3 août 11:07 home
drwx------ 2 root root 16384 3 août 11:07 lost+found
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 3 août 11:07 var
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 3 août 11:07 windows
So now I'm pretty sure there is nothing installed. Something is fishy and I'm pretty sure I missed something at some point.

Since it's my first time with Slackware I'm kind of confuse. Someone can point me out where I'm wrong ? Maybe I didn't read the proper link, I tried to search around here: https://docs.slackware.com/

But for now I didn't find something that helps me.

Last thing, I tried to boot and install the Slackware DVD from Legacy (BIOS) to UEFI but this is the exact same thing except the screen resolution.

---

Regards,

The 14.2 installer may be having problems reading the installation disk or using your computer's hardware.

I suggest trying again with Slackware64-current.

Since you already have a working Debian installation, you can make an ISO by downloading the tree and following the instructions at https://mirrors.kernel.org/slackware...nux/README.TXT

Alternatively, you can download an unofficial ISO from https://slackware.nl/slackware/slackware64-current-iso/
