Need information on re-building packages from source
I may be crazy but I am trying to rebuild the
slackware x11 package from source.
I downloaded the source package, un-tared it
and somewhat figured out what I need to do..
but it is failing complaining about missing
packages. Some of the packages appear to be
x11 related.. within the source x11 package
that I am trying to build.
This leads me to ask.. is there any documentation
covering now to use the Slackware source packages
to rebuild a package? I have recompiled a few
small items in the past but never anything this
big. It appears that the process is somewhat
automated with all of the scripts it includes,
but wondering what the secrets are to use them.
I have made some good progress so far, but wondering
if there is more information about the process that I
am overlooking.
I thought this would be easier than using the stuff
directly from x.org
