i've got a problem:
-i've a pc,
-on this pc i have 1 windows partition
-on this pc i had 1 fedora partition
-so i formatted fedora partition and inserted slack cd
-i installing everything cd's got.
-i reboot
-i still have grub boot loader and it shows me "fedora-core, fedora-safety, other"
If you followed H_TeXMeX_H's instructions above for installing lilo to the mbr, and if you elected to format the (previously Fedora) partition when you installed Slackware, you shouldn't be seeing grub at all.
The instructions given above by H_TeXMeX_H will solve the problem.
Run the configuration by booting with the installation CD/DVD and entering the setup scripts.
Remember to select your source and target devices (re-initializing the swap partition isn't necessary, nor is re-installing any packages... just select Configure).
Refer to the section "7.3 Dual Booting" in the slackbook.org links in H_TeXMeX_H's instructions above to install lilo to the mbr and add a Windows partition to the lilo menu.
Frankly, I prefer grub and have installed it in place of lilo, but that doesn't help you in this case, because you've overwritten all of grub's configuration info with the new installation of Slackware. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that except that you are left with the mbr remnants of grub and that needs to be replaced with lilo.
It is possible to enter the boot parameters from that grub> prompt for either the Windows or Slackware partitions, but I don't recommend it for right now... just install lilo. It is a far easier path to tread.
