Question how can i change my vga driver from "vesa" to "savage"

i have a s3 pro savage onboard chip and i just found out that my xorg.conf file has the "vesa" driver, i tried changing it to "savage" but it did nothing, how can i do this? i already have the savage_drv.o in the modules directory but i dont know what to do, should i just leave it at "vesa"?

did you try running "xorgconfig" as root? I did that and it detected my 845G onboard video and gave me a convieneant xorg.conf.

just to note, you should back up your current xorg.conf if you're going to try this.
