I have a straightforward x64 current.
Couple of days ago and after an overnight update and the next morning reboot, wpa_supplicant over the WNIC stopped working...
ldd showed why:

slackpkg file-search libssl
Looking for libssl in package list. Please wait... DONE
The list below shows the packages that contains "libssl" file.
---snip---
[inst] slackware64 : openssl-3.0.8-x86_64-2
[inst] slackware64 : openssl-solibs-3.0.8-x86_64-2
[unin] slackware64 : openssl11-1.1.1t-x86_64-1
[unin] slackware64 : openssl11-solibs-1.1.1t-x86_64-1
Luckily, I had a wired connection available, so connected to the wired and re-installed the libs
# slackpkg install openssl11-1.1.1t-x86_64-1 openssl11-solibs-1.1.1t-x86_64-1
All is well again with the wnic.
