Swaret had work fine for me, like others have already say, maybe itīs not the best packagetool for slack out there, but it work for me needs, I upgrade slack 9.1 to 10 with it whitout any problem, of course I must admit I only use swaret to download the new packages, but to upgrade then I do it manually first uninstalling the old packages, then installing the new ones, with installpkg *.tgz then I do updatedb, modify .new files and everything is working fine. itīs matter of tasted, I know some people that like emerde, others like pksrc to make their slack more BSD-Style (which I think is a fake, and what really does pksrc is put NetBSD under your system and no longer Linux), others like slapt-get, is just your choice.

Sigh. If only English were as straight-forward and easy as assembly. Oh well.

As for SWareT, I use to use and I think it's a fine tool, but unfortunately there hasn't been an update for a looooooong time. There is a pretty annoying bug with writing package upgrade list to a file that begs to be fixed. And while I appreciate LinuxSneaker's work when he took over maintaining SWareT, I think he might have too much on his plate right now with a baby, moving, and other things. I would submit a patch or offer to help maintain, but my knowledge of awk is zero, and I certainly don't have enough time either.

SWareT, our time together was fun, but you're just not growing in this relationship (bad attempt at a joke ).

American English equivalent:
And a bloody colorful embarrassment you are, too

Now how do I speak that?
