You are building kernel with non-retpoline compiler.


make kernel with slackware64-current/source/k/build-all-kernels.sh
failed with: "You are building kernel with non-retpoline compiler."
what should I do then?

working OS environment: slackware64-14.2 in virtualbox
source code: slackware64-current
gcc version: gcc (GCC) 5.3.0

details like this:

Upgrade your slackware64-14.2 with *all* the patch packages in /patches/packages/.

Thanks a lot, i upgrade all package.
it works, and i have finish the kernel compilation.

upgrade all package like this:
# uncomment one line about "Slackware64-14.2" from /etc/slackpkg/mirrors
slackpkg update
slackpkg upgrade-all

The reference was to your gcc compiler. The older versions of gcc can't build a kernel that is secure against meltdown.
