You could download the rpm and then make it a Slackware package with rpm2tgz.

You could always download the source and compile it yourself

It works, without selecting the startup or any other option. It's an ancient version though ... can't I add more groups the the standard one? I cant select to whom would I appear invisible or not. If I become visible, over 50 persons will buzz me.

sucks to be popular? :P
but yeah, it's a bit of an ancient version, as yahoo isn't completely linux/unix friendly. but hey, for me it works, and works well, for everything i need to do anyways.

I've found that if you log into YM on a Windows machine running the latest version and set all the people you want to be invisible to there you still appear to be offline to them in gaim (at least it seemed to when I had a working version of gaim 1.5). I'm not sure if that works for everyone or is just a bug.

In kopete, right-click on the yahoo buddy, at the bottom of the drop-down menu is the same buddy's name, the next drop-down will have "stealth setting". Pick from "permanently off-line" or "on-line". This is available for yahoo but not aol. Not sure how well it works, but it's there.
