Exclamation Xorg and 3rd mouse wheel

I've come across of many questions simillar to this one but I still can't get it working. This is the problem. When I click my wheel button let's say in firefox it works for opening new tabs but i doesn't scroll. Any ideas?

This is my xorg.config mouse section:
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "PS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "Buttons" "5"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

TIA

This is my Xorg entry which works well:

Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "Auto"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "Emulate3Buttons"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

Just slightly different to yours but it might make the difference:

Good that you got it working. I guess these little problems with mouse configuration are caused by the different choices of modules when compiling the kernel.

That one kicked my butt for the better part of a year (or longer - I had more important cats to skin), until I determined that it was the wrong mouse driver (ps/2 driver apparently does not support the mouse wheel).

I had googled all the possible websites dealing with this - and not one came out and made that statement (at the time). I ended up deciding to duplicate the example configs specifically --- and the system bitched about not being able to find the 'imps/2' mouse driver. I went into the XF86config file and made the change to the mouse driver specification - and BAM! It started working - and a lightbulb went on over my head.

Sometimes it takes more than RTFM to figure out a problem.
