I used xwmconfig to switch from kde to xfce. My wallpaper is not displaying so I tried to right button the desktop to get to settings and change my wallpaper back to what I want. Tried to navigate to my wallpaper and nothing in the navigator window works.
It is all grey.
Also the order is reversed to the alphabetical order it was alway in and no way I can find to change it back,
Tried another user and same thing there too.

I don't use XFCE but I think you have to select the folder for the wallpapers before the wallpaper, might be down the bottom somewhere. Images in that folder will then show up as available for selection.
I see in the slackware64-14.2 changelog that gtk-2 was upgraded to version 2.24.31 on Sep 10th. Probably when the bug made its first appearance in slackware.
I applied the fix mentioned in the link above and it resolved the problem.
Distribution: Slackware64 15.0 (started with 13.37). Testing -current in a spare partition.

As workaround, what I did was drag my wallpaper directory to the shortcuts panel
in the filechooser (or Thunar), then it will appear in the wallpaper folder list.

Thank you Paulo2. That worked for me at least to get the wallpapers back for now. Tried to understand git and apply the fix but I am not schooled in computers and am befuddled by the whole mess
