I need help installing Wine. I downloaded the lastest package. I'm sure it the correct one. The install isnt working when I type ./tools/wineinstall. The configuration starts up and finishes but then I get a very strange error.
Compiling WINE. Grab a lunch or two, rent a video, or whatever,
in the meantime...
Makefile is older than Makefile.in configure, please rerun ./configure
make: *** [Makefile] Error 1
Makefile is older than Makefile.in configure, please rerun ./configure
make: *** [Makefile] Error 1
Compilation failed, aborting install.
I'v rerun the file a few times and even downloaded an older version of wine but I still get the same error. I'v also just run ./configure && make depend && make but I get the exact same error when it tried to compile. I'm running Slackware 9.0 with the full install. Can someone please help me install Wine?
Try make clean to get rid of any existing config files, then try compiling again. If that doesn't work, if you have the tar.gz of wine, delete the wine folder and unpack again. If all else fails, try getting the wine[version].tgz from LinuxPackages.net and install with installpkg.
