where I put the alias??


hi
I have a slackware 9.1 and a want to know where i put the alias
to charge every time i boot
in debian distribution the file is .bashrc and is here /root/
but in slackware i don't know where i must put
thax
sorry about my english...

I am not sure what you mean by the alias to charge....

are you trying to have a command run everytime the system starts up, or edit part of your command environment?

I think it was a typo -- he meant "alias to change every time i boot" which roughly would mean (totally pulling this one out of my behind) user defined aliases..

You're correct sir.
.bashrc is a good place...
However, a better setup, at least for me, is to have .bashrc consist of only two lines...

source /etc/profile
source ~/.bash_profile

and then create .bash_profile

alias whatever="whatever command"

for example

alias l=Žls -alŽ
alias startx=ŽkdeŽ
......
....
i want this command when i boot
