I think I might have it figured out, I DL a slackbuild off of the slackbuilds sight, and DL the newest verions of what I need did the mod and it's build right now.
as you can read in the first post of the dedicated topic there's an alternative interface that show all the modifications for each SlackBuild that IMHO is handier than the github's one
if the SlackBuild doesn't show there it means it hasn't been touched (as explained still in the first post of same topic, not everything is patched to work on current), so you should report it in the dedicated topic and, hopefully, someone will patch it.

yeah, as it didn't complete ... though it is not an absolute necessity. Plus I have Bodhi installed for a backup system just encase I need it for whatever reason . mostly a backdoor to slack. I could install it there if I really needed to. so there's no real need to bother someone on this. I'm sure they have more important something to do.
through in that post the OP asked a question that was not answered, reverting back to slack 15 stable
just to confirm my suspicions, just changing the mirrors file back to stable would not work because of the updated packages, though if on did a clean system that too should not work either because the system should keep just the original install packages but still they would be the updated ones.
sop either way that would be a fail and a new complete install would be needed.
correct?
