hi

i want to know what is gpg-key and how it works

i have found in http://www.slackware.com/security/

pgp is a identification key system people use to "sign" files or e-mails so you can check the authenticity of them. gpg is the gnu pgp encryption program.

See GNU Privacy Guard -- http://www.gnupg.org/ for mor details of gpg. There should be some documentation about the program.
