USB Universal Host Controller Interface driver v2.2
It should be /dev/sd** but it is null !
How to use it ?
The scripts I previously used successfully included reference to /dev/sda4 (ie the scsi emulation mapped different usb ports to virtual "partitions" - no longer it seems)
So: I tried to mount /dev/sd* but there is no devices sd*
when I type "ls -la /dev/sd*" I get "No such file or directory". Also "fdisk -l sd[a-z]" doesn't print anything.
On 2.4 kernel it was working. On 2.6.7 and 2.6.8.1 not. And one more: the light on pendrive doesn't shine.
What to do with it ?
------------------------------------------
I think something in dmesg is bad here :
Code:
usb-storage: queuecommand called
usb-storage: *** thread awakened.
usb-storage: Bad target number (1:0)
usb-storage: scsi cmd done, result=0x40000
I have a fresh debian sarge install and compiled kernel-source-2.6.10 and now I have the same problem. Truncated names on my usb drive that will only mount as msdos. vfat mount attempts fail - bad fs, superblock, blah blah blah. I'm researching this issue and will let you know what I come up with.
Well, I'm in deep with this one. I forgot that I replied to this thread and have started a new one called "usb drive on Deb Sarge/2.6.10 mounting as msdos not vfat". Still no solution, just more questions. I'll reference this thread on mine. Sorry, I should have just continued this one. It has been said that strange things happen to one's mind after staring at a computer for 10 or 12 hours.
first off, I've never seen a computer that uses both ohci and uhci, that's just weird.
Did u enable the low performance usb driver under block devices?? Try that and see if it helps. If it works your pendrive will be mounted at /dev/uba1.
