usb keyboard problems

hi

im running slackware 9. i bought a ps2->usb converter from
radio shack and plugged it in. modules were
loaded, according to lsmod:.
i have: keybdev, hid, input, usbcore, usbkbd loaded

however, keybdev apparantly loads 2x, the second time it
complains that there is already on loaded.
lsusb shows the adaptor, but lsmod says the keybdev
is unused. i cant figure out how to get it to
detect the keyboard

any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure it is possible to use the keyboard as a USB keyboard? I know something like that used to be the case with mice a while back
