Hi all,
I have Slackware 9.1 & DL 2.6 and it was great till yesterday. I upgraded PAM and the xorg package from DL gnome using the installer on 17 April 2004 ( dont remember the exact package names). Now I cannot login to Linux.
When I reach the login prompt, I enter the username as usual but it doesnt ask me for a password ; instead it just returns a message "Login Incorrect" about 4 times before returning to the login prompt again.
Any ideas as to what needs to be done? I can use the Slackware rescue disks to make changes but I dont know what to do.

The issue has been resolved. There was an issue with PAM which required the .new files in /etc/pam.d/ to be renamed without the .new... this solution is on the dropline gnome forums at
www.dropline.net
