My local guru gave me a CD to upgrade the pkg's on my slack 9 box last week and said it would be real easy just type this and then wait. (I've trusted him before so why not now right?)

It ran I rebooted and now I have lots of things to fix including but not limited to My LILO is broken and doesn't prompt me for anything just goes straight in and when it gets to my login prompt I have no keyboard. That is my Question.

I have NO keyboard. Yes it's plugged in yes I tried other keyboards I can use it in the bios so I know it works, but as soon as it gets through loading linux and hits the prompt for login, I'M SCREWED can anyone help. please.

It turns out I used the patches for verion 9 and I was only running version 8.1 Is that bad?

I think I know what to do now but want some tips from you smartguys out there(and girls), I think I can just boot off of a slack 9 cd run setup then upgrade from there is that right I hope as alwas your help is greatly appreciated.
