Yes, but only if you live in the USA!

For those of us in good old Blighty (England), slackware.uk is even closer than AlienBob!

I have uncomment the line 53 on slackpkgplus.conf and it resolved my problem.
Code:
DOWNLOADCMD="wget2 --progress=bar -O"

This affects anyone using slackpkg+, not just current.

How so, slackfinder.org is down.

This is a pretty radical "fix", why not just comment out the relevant lines is slackpkgplus.conf? You must not have a lot of third party packages to manage.

That's only for the dev version and since slakfinder is still down that new functionality is broken.

Thank you for clarifying that I have the dev version installed so that makes sense.

The issue is on-going. I check my mirrors by hand and they are up.

Code:
# slackpkg update

Might have been a minor hiccup with slackware.nl as it wasn't working a minute ago, but is now and us.slackware.nl is another option.

Not sure why that was even suggested...wget2 is not a solution.

The owner of this thread is pleased to undo SOLVED, as the problem is not resolved.
Thread search list this thread as SOLVED, but it is not. slackpkg+ do not work.

Thank you.

you can comment those lines out for slackpkgplus.conf if you choose
Quote:
#PKGS_PRIORITY+=( slackpkgplus )
#REPOPLUS+=( slackpkgplus )
#MIRRORPLUS['slackpkgplus']=https://slakfinder.org/slackpkg+dev/
or you can use
Quote:
MIRRORPLUS['slackpkgplus']=https://slackware.nl/slackpkgplus/
That would probably be way this thread is marked as solved

Slackware64-current.

Thanks, I tested the above.
The result is not satisfactory:
Correct results with offered multilib packages - all offered are newer then installed
Slackpkg+-1.8 offered, but version 1.9f installed
speex-1.2.0 from alien offered, but speex-1.2.1 from main repository installed

So I can not trust that settings, as some older packegas are offered as instaled.

Thanks so far.

I attached both slackpkg files (added .txt for attachment compatibility on this forum).

Other /etc/slackpkg files are not relevant for this case.
Attached Files
File Type: txt slackpkg.conf.txt (6.0 KB, 7 views)
File Type: txt slackpkgplus.conf.txt (10.3 KB, 9 views)

o k now I get what your saying it has to do with package PRIORITY

So slackpkg+ 1.9f I don't think anyone mirrored that repository.
I know I did and I also mirrored 1.8 repository as well.

As for speex Slackware has version 1.2.0 and so does AlienBob 1.2.0

Your priority for alienbob is last in the list so his package shouldnt be installed. Correct me if I am wrong.

Alienbob changelog:
Code:
Wed Dec 28 21:06:10 UTC 2022
speex: removed, no idea why I added it when it was already in Slackware 15.0.
