Unable to build pidgin 2.10.1 package

I downloaded the slackbuild and other files from here.. I want the --disable-vv tag changed to --enable-vv, but I get this error whether I change it or not.

When I try to run the slackbuild, it goes for a while and then gives me this segfault:

Code:
./pidgin.SlackBuild: line 106: 11515 Segmentation fault CFLAGS="$SLKCFLAGS" CXXFLAGS="$SLKCFLAGS" ./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib${LIBDIRSUFFIX} --sysconfdir=/etc --mandir=/usr/man --enable-dot=no --disable-schemas-install --enable-dbus --enable-gnutls=yes --enable-nss=no --enable-vv --enable-gtkspell --enable-cyrus-sasl --enable-perl --disable-meanwhile --disable-avahi --disable-nm --program-prefix= --program-suffix= --build=$ARCH-slackware-linux$ARCHQUADLET
I'm not really sure what this is telling me, and I don't know what to do to fix it either.

If it matters, all files from the link I gave are in their own folder along with the pidgin source package.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also as a side note, pidgin 2.10.1 is a security upgrade, so maybe the 2.9 should be updated in the 13.37 and -current repos now?

edit: Just clarifying, the 2.10.1 is the only pidgin package in the directory. I didn't pull the 2.7 from the repo I linked.

I have compiled it successfully using the slackbuild from here.

Quick question: Did you build it as root? i.e
Code:
su -

of course. Its a segfault error, not a permissions problem.

It's an error in the editing. An extra quote, missing \ .... something. Easy to spot from your output - --libdir=/usr/lib${LIBDIRSUFFIX} Means the value of LIBDIRSUFFIX was never passed along.

There is no --enable-vv option. The configure script looks for the needed libraries and enables all options available unless --disable-$SOMETHING is passed.

Builds fine here.

by default, i guess they tried to enable-vv, but since Slackware doesn't ship the required dependency for voice and video support, Pat added --disable-vv parameter
