Exclamation System crash help. Lilo

Ok my friend and I have installed slack on a old system and he not me ofcource did a bad thing
After we boot from lilo and sign in as root and so on the screen just keeps scrolling with text, cant read it tho. There is no back up disk and the system is not booting fronm the CD either.
Is there away around this at the Lilo Screen or when we get to login to try to do a fresh install?
Thanks.
Mark

lilo should not effect whether it can boot from the cd, that is usually set by the bios. if it booted from the cd before but now it won't, you might have damaged the cd.

Having said that, what is the problem. You should see scrolling text after booting from lilo and come to a login prompt?

lol, keep me updated on that =]

When it boots, don't log on to it directly, but try to SSH into it from another machine. See if this will work or not.

Afterwards, if that works... experiment.. start with dmesg.

Well I think the bad thing is when it was installed he.. ok we decided to do a very min install that being said I guess it didnt like it and we did do this from the CD and we did and do have the bios set for CD boot at this time.
Scroll lock will not work but it look like exts2 and inode or somthing with alot of text following it and numbers.
I also tried to use a boot disk for my sytem and ofcource that did not work.... I am not sure if I should of tried that or not.
I have no idea on the ssh part using the anther system to boot ? sounds difficuilt
I really trying to figure out why I cant get the CD to read like it should The CD is fine, if I put it into my system it works fine, hmmmm

Is there a way around lilo boot or before login to fdisk it?
