swsusp not working on 2.6.18 kernel

Hi all,

I'm trying to get swsusp working on a 2.6.18 kernel. It works fine on my 2.6.17 kernel. The problem is it suspends (or seems to) but does not resume, it just boots normally, and I have to reformat and remount the swap partition each time. I have removed smp from the kernel, I have tried with suspend2. Neither is working for me.

BTW, does anyone know if slack-current will work ok with the 2.6.17 kernel?

I'm running a 2.6.18 kernel
software suspend has to have ALL the modules unloaded to work
I can't find a way to do this with ALSD .even a preemtive kernel
will NOT unload the ALSD modules
I'm not willing to try it because the kernel crash from not
unloading the sound modules hamburgers the rieser file system
leading to another reinstall

I doubt that this problem will ever be fixed
software suspend just isen't ready for prime time

That's a shame, because it works flawlessly in the 2.6.17 kernel without any module unloading, at least none that I am aware of or explicitly chose. I just recompiled the kernel, added the resume line to lilo and it worked.
