Hi,

You could use Alien_Bob's mini ISO image. You can use it to install with NFS or a local HD.

As others have said, not really necessary. Read thru it first, and refer to it after. Having it available during install isn't really necessary.

I've used Debian for a couple years as a server and just recently put Slack on my primary desktop. I love them both for different reasons. Good luck.
