strange error while compiling from source

hello there guys ...
no forum can help me like u slackers ... am not able to compile from source any program
just recently i ve updated my system from 10.0 till 10.1 current and also the same error still appears during the ./configure

configure: error: C preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check
See `config.log' for more details.

did anyone face this problem before ? my gcc is current
and i have g++ also current

Do you've the kernel-headers package installed? If you don't and you haven't compiled glibc by yourself, install the kernel-headers 2.4 package.

most probably it will cause i have been updating manually my system , ya i am mazochist you can say ! and i did not install the kernel headers related to the 2.4.31 kernel
