Sound problems and lack of EHCI-HDC after compile the kernel

I installed Slamd64 bit, then build the kernel with the 2.6.14 kernel.
After rebooting, my sound does not work and the alsaconf command said that it could not find the modules for the sound. Besides, I saw two messages when the system boot:
FATAL: Module snd_pcm_oss not found
FATAL: Module snd_mixer_oss not found.
But I did choose all the option in the Sound part when I was compiling the kernel.

I also saw the message
FATAL: Module ehci_hcd not found. Even though I had choosed it in the USB part

How can I fix these problem.

I haven't used Slamd64, but did you do a full kernel compile from sources (including running make and make modules_install)? If you did, does running `grep -i 'ehci_hcd' /usr/src/linux/.config` return either CONFIG_USB_EHCI_HCD=m or CONFIG_USB_EHCI_HCD=y?

Those steps need to be completed for the modules to be built and installed - although I've had some strange things happen running make xconfig where my settings didn't seem to get saved.

And since I haven't slept for nearly 24 hours I'm off to bed now...

This happened to me (not on Slamd64) I had to recompile my kernel and make sure (even tho i used 2.6.13 config) that i did what i saw on this post:
Code:
When configuring your kernel, be sure to enable the OSS emulation options (SND_OSSEMUL, SN
D_MIXER_O
SS and SND_PCM_OSS) Also be sure to enable the appropriate sound driver (in PCI devices) -
 I compil
ed mine directly into the kernel. Finally, be sure to download and install the latest alsa
-lib and
alsa-utils
Good luck
