Sound is spotty in both Chrome and Chromium

I've noticed that sounds sometimes works and sometimes doesn't in both Chromium and Chrome. I use a usb headset usually that is configured in .asoundrc to be the default. Sounds works normally in firefox, but as I said not always in chrome or chromium.

I've noticed that videos sometimes stops working as well.

Could there be a config file somewhere that I missed? I've recently noticed a chrome app for hangouts and like the idea of making calls from my desktop, but would like to get the sound problem worked out.

I'm using the KDE desktop right now, but have noticed that it does not seem to be a desktop specific problem as I've had the issue with mate and XFCE as well.

My machine is running slackware 14.1 64 bit.

Spotty sound w browsers, flash

I get this same problem on ALL my devices here, including an Arch installation on my Samsung ARM Chromebook. The problem is with the Chromium Pepperflash spec, or even Adobe's (if running Firefox/Seamonkey). Flash is TRASH! I use VLC or SMPlayer if I REALLY want to view video w sound on the web. That way, one only needs contend w ALSA.
