You are absolutely right.
I installed Slackware 14.0 on my pc and I noticed the spike in temperature right below my left palm.

After a lot of search I found @raphaeldavidf 's solution. Thanks mate.

Earlier #gkrellmm gave me an output of 71 C (~ 160 F) at an ambient temp of just 35 C (~95 F)
Now after these steps above, I am getting a much better 49 C (~ 120 F)

Never had this issue in the MS OS that came with the machine.
Just to dissect the issue more, is this particularly dependent on hardware ?

Coz I remember "Not passing any arguements" to the liloconfig when I installed Slack.

Also, this fix does solve the issue to an extent. I booted into MS and the system was more cooler than it is now.
I'll run a utility on MS soon to compare the temp differences.

Thanks again @raphaeldavidf.

Cheers.

As far as I'm concerned, this problem is hardware specific(Intel Sandy Bridge). When in Win 7 my computer get almost the same temperature from slack, so maybe you should look for some lilo arguments. ;D
