smbclient: ERROR: Could not determine network interfaces

Hi all,

I have just upgraded my slackware-10.0 from samba-3.0.5-i486-3 (from the official slackware site) to samba-3.0.9-i486-1 (from http://www.slackware.org.br/~patrick...-10.0/patches/).

Since then, I get the following message when trying to use smbclient:

ERROR: Could not determine network interfaces, you must use a interfaces config line
---

I have tried adding an "interfaces = eth0" to smb.conf, to no avail.

Any clues?

uselpa,

I had the same problem after upgrading with that same patch. I added the interfaces parameter and it worked, sort of. See my post in Software:

I reverted back to 3.0.7 from Slackware-current, installed it with samba.SlackBuild, and it's working fine. Sorry I'm not much help, but I haven't had any luck tracking down the problem.
