Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, I don't have an external DVD drive to test that with. I did try Slackware-current, and it's installer is able to boot up fine, I even gave it a small partition to test an actual install, and it installed and runs fine too. However, I would prefer to use 14.2 if at all possible.
Does anyone else have suggestions as to what is causing this, or is there another way to start the installation media other than with the provided GRUB on an EFI system? Or, is there a way to make GRUB more verbose and actually display what it's doing, so I can see where it is actually hanging?
