Slackware64 14.1 Request - Thunderbird 24.0.1

Any chance of Thunderbird 24.0.1 getting included before we get the final baked release of Slackware64? Lightning 2.6.1 is broken with the current Thunderbird 24.0 x86_64 release and this is the default add-on version. I had to build Thunderbird 24.0.1 to fix Lightning.

Thunderbird 24.0.1 was actually the version that broke the Lightning plugin, and I'd avoided upgrading to it because of that:

https://blog.mozilla.org/calendar/20...rd-24-0-1-yet/

This blog post says that Thunderbird 24.0.0 and 24.0.1 are not binary compatible. It appears that Lightning has been upgraded to fix the issue with 24.0.1, but what about other plugins? It's not clear to me that upgrading to 24.0.1 won't cause other plugins to fail. Anyone know?

No issue with other plugins with Thunderbird 24.0.1 thus far. The odd thing is Lightning 2.6.1 is is the default add-on available for Thunderbird 24.0. This version should be listed as "Not available" or "Not compatible". Guess the Mozilla guys needs to get things in order.

Anyway, it seems Thunderbird 24.1.0 with Lightning 2.6.2 was just pushed out. Maybe that one can be included.

PS. After reading the blog, I realized I could have gone back to Lightning 2.6 from the version history. Have to blame Slack for that one for getting me in the habit of marching forward and building what I need when I need. All but my own kernel at the moment.

I'm also curious as to if firefox will be upgraded to version 25?

As for thunderbird, since we wouldn't be 100% sure what problems arise when upgrading, I think we should keep it in the version it is now (unless someone can confirm more plugins don't break upon upgrading) since we are in the rc stages, but upon release I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to get thunderbird upgraded in -current to see if the -current users find anything wrong.

Please (please please) don't break the Lightning plugin. I'm using it daily.

Thanks Pat. No issue with 24.1 and my add-ons, including lightning.
