Slackware Current - Hovering over games menu on XFCE causes whole DE to crash

I start xfce with the startx command, if I move my mouse over to the Games section on the XFCE menu the whole DE will crash after a few seconds. This started occurring since I installed the steamclient available in alienbob's repo.

When it crashes I see things related to libglamor.so.0 ....i have a feeling multilib didn't install on my system correctly as when I load up steamclient from terminal I get an error about there is no direct rendering.

I'm running Slackware64-current without multi-libraries and the crash does not happen when I hover over the games menu.
