OK, I searched around the forum and Googled but I still can't find an answer. I need to make a bootdisk so i can recover LILO after an XP install. I just need to boot it run lilo then I will leave becuase LILO is already set up to boot Windows. I'm trying to use rawrite which I have. I can't seem to find the image bare.i I can find the DIRECTORY bare.i on the Slackware 8.1 CD but not the file bare.i I know I'm missing something easy.
You can find the floppy image for 8.1 from any of the Slackware mirrors. The image you may be looking for should be under slackware/slackware-8.1/bootdisks/. Where, for example, you can find bare.i
If you don't have a root parition on you hard drive you will need to download the root disks for 8.1. There are now 5 disks required for the root set. To create these disks there is a program that will run and prompt you to put in new disks untill all 5 are created. That can also be found at the slack site.

You can also just get an older set (say from Slack 7), and use the
two disk (boot and root) method, install LILO from there, boot to 8.1,
reinstall lilo (newer version). . .
