slackware 9.1 cd 2

Ok, so is cd 2 a live cd, or does slackware 9.1 already have to be installed? The reason I ask is beacuase when I put cd 2 in everything goes fine until I get this: INIT: cannot execute "/etc/rc.d/rc.M"
After that, I get just get welcome to slackware blah blah blah please login. Under it, it has...
(none) Login:
So what is the login? I've tried 'none', 'root', and about 25 other things...
So I'm guessing that slackware already has to be installed??

You are correct, I just looked at mine.

It has gnome and kde but is also a live disc.

I had no idea.

The 2nd CD indeed functions as a live-cd, plus it includes the Gnome and KDE directories. However although the Readme file on it says it will also boot with X and everything, it won't. It will only boot in a Multiuser (Init:3) mode and allow you to login as root or guest. Someone here recommended http://slax.linux-live.org/ for me, and if it's live-cd your'e looking for, that's the place for you.

ok, so slackware has to be installed for you to use cd2? So it isn't really a live cd then...
