Slackware 9.0 Help

Greetings,
I have recently acquired a new laptop:
Toshiba Tecra S1
1.4 Centrino
40GB HDD
CD-RW/DVD
256MB Ram

I installed SW 9.1 and was disappointed. So I decided to install SW 9.0 the Tecra will not boot from the 9.0 CD ? I can boot my tower with it and I was able to boot the 9.1 CD in the Tecra but 9.0 will not boot. I re-burned the iso thinking it was hosed but ... nothing.

Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

no for slack 9.0 you need a boot disc as well as two root discs to boot both are avaible here:
boot disc download: ftp://sunsite.cnlab-switch.ch/mirror...9.0/rootdisks/
root disc download: ftp://sunsite.cnlab-switch.ch/mirror...9.0/bootdisks/

a little faq how to drop them on floppy and which one to chose is avaible here:
boot disc faq: http://slackware.com/install/bootdisk.php
root disc faq: http://slackware.com/install/rootdisk.php

I also couldn't boot from the CD, but if you get the boot floppy (such as bare.i) as well as the two root floppies (install.1 and install.2) you can get things started. To add a little to kasperhans comments, the sequence is: insert the boot floppy, and boot the machine. when prompted, insert install.1, let it load, and then insert install.2 when prompted. once it's loaded, put the CD into the drive and start the installation. Follow the instructions on screen and you should have smooth sailing. (If you've done a v9.1 install I expect the v9.0 will be pretty similar)

You're making a good choice with Slack -- J.W.
