Slackware doesn't find my dvd. This is odd it's the only distro I had this problem. How can I make this work? I would prefer I find a way to install from DVD. http://1.1.1.5/bmi/www.slackbook.org...p-source-w.png
Otherwise, is there a way to connect to a PPPOE from the installation so I could download from ftp?
Solution (for me at least): I changed the port for my DVD Writer

Please expand on this a bit?
Will the Slackware install media boot? You checked the download ISO 'md5sum'? Good? You did burn the ISO image?
Without detail information we are just shooting in the dark.
FYI: I suggest that you look at 'How to Ask Questions the Smart Way' so in the future your queries provide information that will aid us in diagnosis of the problem or query.
The DVD mounts from bios. I partition my HDD then enter "setup" go with all the steps untill "select source". I chose "Install from Slack cd/dvd".
Problem is it dosen't find my dvd. So I can't install packages from the DVD.
What can I do?
How do I fix this so I can install packages from my install DVD.
Is there a program I can connect to my PPPOE internet like pppoe-setup or something from the install DVD?

Try passing 'ide0=noprobe and ide1=noprobe' at the 'boot:' prompt after selecting your kernel.
Code:
boot: Linux ide0=noprobe ide1=noprobe
I'm just guessing since you failed to provided hardware information for system configuration(s). What are the media interface device types, IDE assignments, SATA? Your DVD/CD reader is on which port? HDD are type(s) and assigned where?
Another point would be to load the Slackware tree to a partition or even mount the slackware ISO to a mount point then pointing to that mount;
Glad to hear that you are up and running. It would be nice for other members who happen on this thread, so please provide the solution(s). Then mark as [Solved] via the Thread tools.
