thats true install windows first, but for the latest I had windows corrupted something and i was able to still save my data after trying to convert the msdos format back to GPT, the data still saved on there.

I read somewhere that one needs to leave some space at the end of the disk drive for Windows. I had a Linux RAID array (software) that getting corrupted. So, now, when I partition out a drive, I leave the last 1MB unpartitioned. So far so good.
