What does it actually do? Allow you to enter your wireless keys and other settings? Can you not just use wicd?

Also, the Slackware team can't possibly test every piece of software out there to see that it works, so don't be too hard on them.

Why do you expect software which isn't part of the Slackware distribution to be supported and to work on Slackware? There are at least two ways to do what you want to do, wicd and the rc.inet1 scripts. I also notice that rutilt doesn't seem to have been updated in over two years so it was probably going to break at some point.

Apparently you need someone to hold your hand to get things done on a system. Slackware is not a hold your hand distribution. You as a user are expected to perform system configurations and administration. If you have been entering the commands for years then where or what is the problem? Most users can setup wireless with a little effort and assistance.

As to your last sentence: There is no way anyone can know every possible hardware configuration. Sure you can setup for hardware in a broad sense but there will be something out there that is not supported.

Your rant(s) have provided us no information to help you solve issues. 'jeremy' re-called all the crystal balls since each was cloudy thus not providing clear visual content. Hopefully the new issue will have audio along with instant clarification button installed so we can answer question like yours.

FYI: I suggest that you look at 'How to Ask Questions the Smart Way' so in the future your queries provide information that will aid us in diagnosis of the problem or query.

You have it backwards. RutilT's maintainers are responsible for testing their program on Slackware. Slackware's maintainers are not responsible for testing their distribution against RutilT.

Also, since Slackware has included a working alternative to RutilT for many years, your post strikes me as a silly attempt at trolling.

OK. What version do you have and have you compiled it from source on Slackware 13.1? I just compiled version 0.18 on my Slackware 13.37 and it started up ok and found my wifi connection.
