Slackware 12.1 and rdesktop problems

Hey all,

When I'm using rdesktop to access Windows XP, the mousewheel doesn't work. When I use a VirtualBox Windows XP to access Windows XP using RDP, the mousewheel works like a charm.

This leads me to believe that there is some sort of problem with the Slackware 12.1 rdesktop package, unless of course this is a known issue with Linux -> Windows RDP?

Anybody experienced anything similar?

Regards,
Thomas

I've found a few references here and there, mentioning that the mousewheel and rdesktop aren't the best of friends, so this might just be a general issues with rdesktop.

Perhaps I should try it with a few other distros, just to see if the problem persists.

you can try build yourself a brand new rdesktop package for 12.1 with the slackbuild (editing it about the new version) and the new source package (if you like bleeding edge code you can try also with subversion -"download gnu tarball" down in the page) and see if rdesktop developers have fixed the mouse issue.

I have build a new package, because I needed sound support, which isn't available in the official 12.1 package, but it didn't fix the mousewheel problem.

Going bleeding edge might be the solution.
