Has _anyone_ received their Slackware 11.0 CD / DVD set that they preordered from the store? I ordered a few months in advance and even though the release was a while ago now, I still don't have my copy. I emailed the store people and they said everything has been shipped. Has anyone had any luck?
For now I've just had to download, but I wanted the "real deal" this time.
Edit: I guess I should clarify - I have a subscription, so I didn't specifically preorder the 11.0 CD set. They just show up as part of the subscription. I don't know if that makes a difference or not.
Mine turned up a few weeks ago. Email the sales people (address is on the Slack shop page) to see where yours is. They answer pretty quickly and are always very helpful.
I'll try sending them another email, like I said the last one I got back was a little generic. Maybe it's just slower going across the USA -> Canada border.
This has always been an issue with me the past couple years. I think Pat needs some help in the shipping department. Big time. I always download as soon as it's available and then eons later when I do get it, I leave it celophane wrapped and set it on a shelf.
Humm... I'm also subscribed (anyway I think I am), but I also downloaded
Slack 11 which is happily running on my box as I write this. So, here
it is Nov 10 already, and no CD's here either... Shipping a new
release dosen't seem realy high on the Slack Store's to-do list.
Ah, well. One day those nice shiny un-opened Slackware CD sets
may be collectibles
I totally forgot that I had a subscription since 10 or 10.1 (probably because I never received 10.2, wasn't charged for it, didn't miss it)so I pre-ordered 11. Both subscription and pre-order reached Geneva (CH)late last week.
I have a CD subscription... but I have not seen anything arrive yet.
I was in the same situation once. What had happened was that the credit card number that I had used for the subscription was no longer valid, the card had expired. As the Slackware store was unable to debit my card, they didn't send the CDs. Neither did they try to contact me by mail.
When I send them a mail, they explained what had happened, I updated my credit card details and received the CDs.
