Slackware 10 problem
My computer halts whenever i play mp3 file in slackware 10.
I am using kde 3.3 kernel 2.4.26?
Wav files cannot be played but it does'nt halt computer while mpg files work properly.
secondly i get kernal panic error when i use kernel like 2.64 and 2.67, when using with a SATA drive only in Slack 10 (9.1 works gr8) even though i have compiled the kernel with sata support.
i have tried to every root option like root=/dev/sda7,hde7,hda7
i get this error:
unable to mount root fs
please try root boot option
When you recompiled your kernel, did you make sure to include your reseirfs,(or ext3fs, etc) drive system? That can cause kernel panic like what you are talking about.
