Slackware 10.1 Keyboard freeze with blinking lights

I just did my first install of Slackware and it went good, looks great!

Everything worked fine, (after a little tinkering with the internet connection) then I installed XMMS and my keyboard started freezing. Not sure that XMMS has anything to do with it but that is all I changed.

When the freeze happens my caps lock and scroll lock lights start blinking and the only way I have been able to get out of the freeze is to restart.
(restart button not logout restart)

PS/2 Keyboard (basic/with the system Logitec)
Celeron 2.4

I did search for some answers but didn't find what I needed.

Could you add a little more infos ?

- videos card spec
- kernel version (uname -r)
- X version (xdpyinfo | grep version)
- amount of RAM
- video driver (look at /etc/X11/xorg.conf at Device section for the video card)

keyboard lights blinking almost always means a kernel panic..

it's probably a hardware issue or a bug in the kernel if that's the case.. you may want to try a new kernel.

You might want to test your memory, a little while back I had a bad memory module that showed up when the system was under load. You can use memtest86 to test your RAM.

Cheers!

You did not say what video driver you use, look in /etc/X11/xorg.conf

I tested my RAM and got a bunch of errors so I am pretty sure that was the problem.

Somewhere around 200 000 errors, I think my ram is shot.
