I have a new Slackware64 install (from scratch, no upgrade) and I configured slackpkg in the mirrors file. I can run slackpkg update without any issues, but when I try slackpkg install-new or slackpkg upgrade-all I get the following messages:
Code:
# slackpkg install-new
grep: Invalid range end
Looking for NEW packages to install. Please wait... DONE
No packages match the pattern for install. Try:
/usr/sbin/slackpkg upgrade|reinstall
#
and
Code:
# slackpkg upgrade-all
hecking local integrity... DONE
grep: Invalid range end
grep: Invalid range end
Looking for packages to upgrade. Please wait... DONE
No packages match the pattern for upgrade. Try:
/usr/sbin/slackpkg install|reinstall
it's the grep: Invalid range end message. In the mean time I just download the updates from the security alert emails and issue an upgradepkg xxxxx.txz
I even tried different mirrors with the same results.
Here's the slackpkg version info:
Code:
# slackpkg
slackpkg - version 2.81.1
Usage:
slackpkg [OPTIONS] {install|remove|search|file-search|
upgrade|reinstall|blacklist} {PATTERN|FILE}
slackpkg [OPTIONS] {generate-template|install-template|remove-template}
TEMPLATENAME
slackpkg [OPTIONS] info PACKAGE
slackpkg [OPTIONS] update [gpg]
slackpkg [OPTIONS] {clean-system|upgrade-all|install-new}
slackpkg [OPTIONS] {new-config|check-updates|help}
If you need more information try to use 'slackpkg help' or look the
slackpkg's manpage.
I'm using the generic kernel
Code:
# uname -a
Linux gonzo 3.2.29 #1 SMP Mon Sep 17 13:38:05 CDT 2012 x86_64 AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
Is there something in /etc/slackpkg.conf I need to change that you're suppose to do after an install?
