slack 9 with NVidia drivers; cannot compile opengl programs

I recently upgraded to slackware 9. My previous version was 8.1. With 8.1 I was using NVidia's video drivers for opengl support. I have written some software that utilizes opengl. On my old setup I was able to compile the software fine with NVidia's driver. With 9 I cannot get my software to compile (or any other opengl software) due to 'undefined reference to...' errors. If I install the Mesa opengl, my code will compile; however, I cannot have direct rendering with X. If I leave my setup alone, I can have direct rendering, but cannot compile code. Can anyone tell me what is going on with this? Thanks in advance.

I have the latest driver and it works fine. I just can't compile opengl software with it. What I want to know is if I can have both libraries installed at the same time. That is mesa for compiling and Nvidia for running. Apparently Nvidia's gl library is not complete.

maybe you could try this also in the programmers fourm, they may have an idea since your talking about compiling software you made, even if a moderator can keep this thread open for you in both fourms, cause this question is kinda a crossreference between programming and hardware...sorry i don't know an answer, but this may help you to ask the programmers..
