Hey guys I'm having a slight problem with alsa, I recently compiled the 2.6.19 kernel and now I can't adjust the volume through the PCM mixer on the master, It shows a PCM under kmix and everything looks fine , but I cant adjust it.
If you need any other info let me know and I will post it.
P.S. I alsa recomplied the kernel and installed the alsa-drivers from source with the recent 1.0.14rc1 package and it's still the same.
Not sure if your problem is the same one that I had, but... when I first used alsamixer, it kept telling me the Master and PCM volumes were [Off]. After hitting a few buttons I discovered the M key turned them back on.
I know my post is a little vague, sorry. Yes I have done all those above things and I have the correct modules install, I've checked config files and what not and I still can't find a valid reason for this, all I know is that 2.6.18.3 or newer doesn't seem to have this problem on my machine so I don't know what that means if it's a kernel problem alsa problem or my own problem that im not figuring out.
