Simon installed on Slackware current troubleshooting errors

I installed Simon Voice Recognition Software about 4 days ago.
It's running ok but even after reading the Handbook I still am having trouble with training the program.

My headset works and the program hears me but when I click ok after recording the word or words I'm training Simon to remember I keep getting this error.

Code:
Simon detected that the difference between recorded speech and background noise is too low.
I've already tried adjusting the mic's volume up and down and I still get the error.

Anyone know how do I fix this?

If your running Simon and can give me information about training I'd greatly appreciate it.

It seems that your microphone works properly otherwise? I never used Simon Voice Recognition Software, but the problem might be related to your system audio settings, not to the voice recognition software itself. Just a shot in the dark: perhaps you have to enable "capture" in your audio settings?

Audio settings? Do you mean the Alsamixer?

Or some other sound settings in Slackware?

Hi. Yes, that's what I meant. Try to go to the capture settings (F4) and see if enabling (space bar) and setting the volume of one of the capture channels has any effect. As I said, this is a shot in the dark with respect to your VR software, but it helped me in the past with recording software.

I'll try that in Alsamixer.

I'm trying to download a dictionary that simon needs but I'm getting this error from the website.
Does this mean the website or server is down?

Code:
Not Found

The requested URL /wiki/index.php/English:_setup was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

After launching Alsamixer I hit F4 and raised up the columns to both of the capture columns.

At the next training of words (once the dictionary is installed) I'll let you know if it works.

The headset works fine now and the program is more responsive.

I wasn't able to install the dictionary because HTK won't install; it has a bug.
