Setting up two-factor authentication for Slackware

I know Slackware doesn't use PAM, so how would I setup two-factor authentication (e.g., with Google Authenticator) on Slackware?
thanks

I once tried this (http://linuxconfig.org/linux-authent...ith-usb-device), but yeah, it requires PAM

Google Authenticator also uses PAM
