scr res and refresh rate screwed up

Hi Guys
Running slackware-current to date, with kernel 2.6.9.
Installed xfce 4.2rc2 beta.
After installing kernel 2.6.9 and xfce my screen resolution and refresh rate has been all srewed up.
I've being using a xorg.conf with custom vertical and horzontal setting specific to my hi-end sony monitor. Never had a problem with it before.
But know all my X runs only at 1600x1200x75. When I try to go down to 1280x1024 I am only allowed to use the refresh rate of 75Hz. Where are before I could use at least 85Hz.
The problem is all lower screen res that use 75hz screws up the screen. The screens are squashed into the top left hand corner.
What's going on?

Thanks.

Problem solved, seems that there is some buggyness in the latest xorg.
I managed to fix it by manually enabling the DDCmode in xorg.conf.

Works like a charm.
